Disney Bed-Time Blog: Day 5
Posted By Jill on February 15, 2009
I think the Mouse won. We are exhausted! I think the rest of our group went to conquer the Magic Kingdom for Magic Hours tonight, but we just can’t do it. Mac has been really tired today and not quite himself, and add to that the fact that Jeremy and I can barely walk another step… we decided to end our day a little early.
After Mac’s very long nap (about 3 hours), Jeremy and he met me at Epcot. When Jeremy said they were on their way, I stood in line at the Character Spot where they have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all lined up with a photographer in front of each one so you go from one to the next getting pictures.
Disney now has a service called a “Photopass” where you get a card with a barcode, and any picture you have taken throughout the resort can be stored with that barcode and accessed on the internet for prints later. Genious! And because I could wait in line while they were in transit, Mac was still in good shape when we got to the characters. This was the longest time Mac was really happy today - he seemed to love it!
Then we went back to The Seas to see the fishies, but he was tired already and not as interested as the other night. We decided we’d let him sit in the stroller and we’d walk around the World Showcase and see how he did. He barely lasted about halfway around, so we decided to cut our losses and head back to the hotel. We played for a little while in the kiddie pool and are now back in the room hoping Mac will sleep just a little then we can all have some dinner. He hasn’t eaten much today either, which also tells us he’s really hit his limit, so we’re listening. We both said we’d be willing to stay with Mac if the other wanted to go join the group, but neither of us has the energy!
Sadly, we’ll use the time to get packed up and organized for tomorrow when we are going to attempt to get checked out, get our carry-on bags to Mom & Clare’s hotel that is close to Epcot, and have lunch at the Germany Pavilion at Noon. As always, we’re hoping for the best, cautiously optimistic that the choice to stay back tonight plays in our favor.
