Mac’s New Trick & Game

Thank you for your patience as I may have piqued your interest with my last post about Mac’s newest accomplishment. Here it is:

On his 11-month birthday, not at all on purpose, I brought him out in the hall with me after getting him ready for bed. I usually throw his laundry down the chute after I put him down, but this time I thought since I knew he could reach the chute, he might get a kick out of being able to do it himself. And to my surprise, he DID! I showed Jeremy the next day, and Mac remembered what to do, almost without any guidance. He seems to like to make his clothes “go bye-bye” or “all gone.” We’re still coming up with what to name it. As with most of what we get on video, the footage is planned, “staged” if you will, after we’ve seen it once or twice. And it usually takes some time because as soon as Mac sees the camera, he wants it. This time I tried setting it up before he was around, but that didn’t work either. The kid’s too darn smart. We do our best!
Here’s another one that happened right after his “chore” was done - he loves to play “Open-Close” with his bedroom door (or any door or drawer for that matter). I think I mentioned that in an earlier post. I figured I’d leave the camera running so you could see that as well.
