Seven Hours

Posted By Jill on March 12, 2008

What a great way to celebrate FOUR WEEKS OLD.

After a rough couple of days of very little sleep for me, I am happy to report that both Mac AND I slept for SEVEN hours straight last night! Yes, you read that right. He was a cranky-pants for much of yesterday, but at about 11:30 I wrapped him up tight and walked with him, and he switched off like a light. I fully expected him to use his special powers to wait until the second I closed my eyes to start fussing like he had all day long. But the little angel stayed asleep, and so did I. I woke once when I felt Jeremy get up to check on Mac, and I woke for good at about 6:45, pulling the bassinet closer to check on him myself. I asked Jeremy if he had gotten up to feed him during the night and maybe I just didn’t hear it, which wasn’t likely, but he said no, Mac slept through! Yea! Now, I don’t expect this to be a regular thing, but if we can get that kind of rest once in a while, it will be nice.

Today has been a great day so far. Mac has eaten well, and pretty efficiently too. He was awake most of the morning until a nap (in his crib!) at around 3:00 after his 2:00 feeding. That allowed me to attempt to start some laundry (someone else was using the facility), open a pile of mail, balance the checking accounts, pay some bills, and clean up a little. We also tried out the carrier Jane gave us, which he was pretty happy in, long enough for me to fix my hair and get some lunch together.
