How Time Flies

Posted By Jill on February 26, 2008

Everyone I’ve talked to has said it, the books I’ve read say it, and I’m here to confirm, that yes, time sure flies with a new baby. Those comments about you realize at 8:00 p.m. that you haven’t even gotten dressed (”what have I done today?!”) have come true for me already on more than one occasion.

We’ve already stopped with the daily photos and blog posts - newborn babies don’t do much that’s exciting yet. He changes a little every day though. His skin has started to clear up and his cord fell off on Thursday.

100_1193.jpg On Saturday we had our first trip to school so I could address some issues at work, but he only got to meet one teacher who was working on the weekend. Then we went to church and met some of the choir members.

Mac is still sleeping very well at night and occasionally needs to be woken for feeding. My theory is that he has his mother’s lack of an internal alarm clock. Sometimes he takes a longer time to go back to sleep after feeding, but it hasn’t ever been as bad as that one bad Monday night we had.

P1020464.JPG Sunday we had our first big family gathering at Roxi’s to meet some cousins and friends. There are some great pictures on our Flickr site of all the baby-passing!

My mom continues to be very helpful with the household chores while Jeremy is working, but her visit is too quickly coming to an end, so we’ll have to find a way to get along on our own.

We had our nurse visit today to have Mac weighed, and believe it or not, he’s lost weight again! They are actually not too concerned as long as we feel he’s doing well, which we do. He’s still sleeping well and seems to be feeding well too, but we’ll need to now feed him every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night. Since we have a good supply, we’ll alternate with bottles of breast milk so I’m not permanently affixed to the couch!
