Work, Work and More Work

Posted By Jill on April 9, 2007

For those of you who got my stressful email in March, that technology plan was sent off five days early!

Now I am at the end of a 49 hour work week over 4 days.  Did someone say Spring Break?  We just did a huge server upgrade at work.  I knew it would take some time, but I had no clue it would be this grueling.  Thank goodness I had help for most of the time, otherwise Jeremy would be committing me to a funny farm by now.  As it was, I already had a couple of breakdowns when it seemed there was no end in sight.

Unfortunately the work started on Thursday, so I could not go to any of the Triduum Masses at church.  The only service I got to was on Easter Sunday when I had to direct the children’s choir at St. Peter’s (they did a great job).  And the rest of Sunday we spent at Roxi’s for a very enjoyable and restful afternoon and evening.

Today I finished getting the workstations online at the Penn campus, another 10-hour day for me.  I’m just glad that part is over.  There is more to do - another server for our backup and some other administrative tasks, but the brutal part is finished.  I’m sure this week will be filled with much training and troubleshooting, but the hours will be shorter and the tasks less demanding.
