Now first of all I do not think that it would ever happen. I do not think the Packers would ever release Favre and give him the chance to beat them two times a year. I do not think that we will ever see Farve in anything but Packers colors.
But, what if. What if the Packers released Favre, and what if he signed with the Vikings. the one thing that there is a major question mark this year for the vikings is at Quarterback. Tarvaris will be better this year, but Favre would be better. It would give him a chance to sit on the sidelines at least one more year and study instead of getting thrown to the fire.
Favre would be able to sit behind one of the better offensive lines in the NFL, and have the benefit of two very good running backs. He would not have to go out and win games on his own, he would have a defense that would keep them in games. It might even be a way for Favre to go to and win another SuperBowl.
But if he did go the Vikings, and even if he won a superbowl with them, I would not like it. He would be turning his back on the Fans of the packers who have supported him for 17 seasons, without question for most of it. He is a god in Wisconsin, and he would throw it all away, and I just could not respect that.

We are waiting for information on homes. it is very frustrating right now, did they accept our offer, will they counter offer. and we have to wait each time. Very frustrating.

Ok, so I have not updated in a long while. things have been kind of hectic between Mac and work so while I have a few minutes free I should update.
But what have I done lately. Well I have worked and changed poopy diapers, and held Mac while he has been screaming, and trying to do stuff around the house when I am home. I know it is hard for Jill to get anything done when it is just her and Mac so I do try. I hope I even succeed in lessening her workload a little. I am not the one to ask though, she is.
Right now though I am just enjoying a quiet house while my two most favorite people are getting a much deserved nap.

The last few days I have been bombarded by news of Brett Favre’s retirement. I am of two minds on the subject. On the one hand seeing anyone of Favre’s talent leave the game is hard thing to see. Over the years I have seen many games where Brett Favre has done amazing things on the football field. I was even on the field during the 96-97 season NFC championship game to see Brett win, and move on to his first Super Bowl. He has been amazing to watch, and a lot of fun to watch.]
On the other hand I am a Vikings fan, and many of those amazing games have come at the expense of the team I love. I have seen 16 seasons of Favre and the Packers beating out some good, and sometimes great Vikings teams. On this hand I am glad to see him go, and I hate to say it, I think they will have a hard time winning half of their games next year without Favre. Time will tell, but I will at least not have to hear 240 times a game about how much fun he has playing the game, and I will no longer have to hear about this could be his last year. So at least a few good things will happen. Oh and I am pretty sure that John Madden will be in a year of mourning next year and may wear black all year because of Favre’s retirement.

Yesterday one of the creators of Dungeons and Dragons, Gary Gygax passed away. Had I ever met the him, no, but I will always appreciate the contributions he made to me growing up. I still remember the first time I sat down to play a roleplaying game, I was 14. And it was not so much about the game but about the fun times I have had with friends since then. It is amazing how many of my friends over the years have been found around a gaming table. Friendships that start with a simple game but end up being much more.
The roleplaying games I play now have little in common with the game that Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson created, but the spirit is still there. The fun and camaraderie are always there. Something as simple as sitting around a table and rolling a few dice always bring back that original feeling of fun I had.
These are the reasons I mourn for a man I have never met, because he has brought so much fun and friendship to my life.

I know I am very late with my week in review, but in my defense it was a really busy weekend. the week proceeding was filled with time to get used to Mac being home. I do have to say he is a little to get used to, but both Jill and I are amazed at how normal it seems that he is here.
Mac has been a wonderful baby though. He sleeps for the most part at night, only waking up every 3 hours or so for feedings which is just right. Jill has also been wonderful in letting me sleep on nights when I have to work.
The weekend was filled with work as I worked until 10 pm on Thursday, till 10:30 pm on Friday, till midnight on Saturday and till 10:30 pm on sunday. This week looks like I will not be as busy with work though.

I have to say the blog and labor seem to be the perfect match. Â I do not know how we could have kept so many people informed and up to date on how our labor was going without our blog. Â It also gave me good things to do when I was not as important to the labor. Â The constant updates on the blog meant I made very few phone calls during labor and only a few right after the delivery. Â I will have to recommend this to any friends who are going thru labor in the future.

So what does a Father do during the birthing process? Â This was a common question that was asked during our birthing classes and we kept getting lists of answers. Â With this information in mind I figured I would be very busy. Â Do you know what I have done so far?
I have played a few hours of Knights of the Old Republic on my laptop ( I tried World of Warcraft but the internet connection was too flaky).  I have updated our blog numerous times.  I have made many update phone calls to family.  and I occasionally get up if Jill needs help.  Oh and I got to sleep for 4 hours last night while Jill was going thru contractions. Not much when you think of it. Â
Mostly I have been sitting here wishing I could make all this pain go away for Jill, but knowing that this is just the process. Â But it is still frustrating to have to sit and watch your wife in pain.Â
