Vivian’s 4-Month Check-Up

IMG_0435I know you’re all lying in wait for all the stats… (ha ha)

Vivian is still in the high percentiles for height, weight and head size.  Now, granted, we are again slightly late for her appointment (10 days), but the doctor was again very impressed!  She is 16 pounds, 2 ounces (92%), 25 3/8″ long (90%) and her head is a whopping 16.5″ (80%).  She is just about on track with where Mac was at this age.  She did pretty well with her battery of shots this time, probably partly due to the fact that I actually remembered to give her some acetaminophen before we left!  She slept well once we got home, coincidentally until 4 hours after her meds… she is now re-medicated but doesn’t seem ready to go back to sleep yet, so we’re a bit off schedule today!

The doctor also commented on her good head control (uh huh), that we could start her on solids (yep, already done that), and that by the next time we see him, she should be rolling around… I had to stop him to say she already is!  I told him she started at 14 weeks – he made a note of it and said maybe she’ll be one of those 10-month walkers!  YIKES!  I mean, I know it’s normal for a younger sibling to progress a little more quickly, but come on!

The only other thing of note is an issue with Vivian not wanting to take a bottle.  Never would I have imagined that our feedings would go so well this time around that she wouldn’t want a bottle!  I guess it’s a good problem to have, but we’ll need to get moving now to prepare for when she needs to be at daycare all day.  I would hope she learns to deal with it by then, or Jane might kick her out!
