Goodbye newborn… Hello infant!  Vivian has grown so much in the last couple of weeks, in fact, in the last few days.  I can hardly believe it.  The other day I could have sworn she just grew an inch overnight.  I’m not sure when the “technical” change is from newborn to infant, but she certainly doesn’t look like a newborn anymore.  Her 2-month checkup on Friday will show us for sure, but by my scale, she’s now almost 13 pounds.

Goodbye baby acne… Hello cradle cap!  Darn it!  At least this time we know how to get it under control quickly so Vivian’s lovely locks can come in early.  It’s a messy yucky process but so worth it!

She has much more awake and alert time during the day that she’s not eating or fussy, too, which has been really fun.  She interacts with us much more than I remember Mac doing.  She smiles and coos, and is just generally a happy baby.  She loves it when people look at her, make faces, and talk to her, as you can see from the photo above.

Vivian still doesn’t spend all that much time on her tummy, but the time she does have she seems to like more than before.  She doesn’t roll over a whole lot either but does practice holding her head up!  Those legs are moving a whole lot too, both on her tummy and her back.  People are always commenting on how strong she is… I could have told you that about 5 months ago!  She also likes to push with her feet when we hold her in the standing position.  She LOVES to look around!

She consistently sleeps through the night, around 10 hours on average.  July 7th was the last morning she woke before 5, and it’s been two weeks since she’s woken before 7.  Because it’s been so consistent, we moved her into what is now the kids’ room on Sunday night of this week.  That has gone really well, though I do keep the monitor by the bed so I can hear any little sound.  It’s especially nice to listen to the morning wake-up with Mac chatting away.  I’m sure there will be many an interesting “conversation” in the next few years!
