My biggest regret at this point is that I haven’t taken nearly enough pictures!  I got some from my mom, but I should have my camera attached to me…

Mac is still doing really well.  He is interacting more with Vivian when she’s on the floor or in her bouncy seat.  He likes to cover her up, and after being told just once or twice, usually remembers not to put the blanket over her face!  He will occasionally help, and sometimes will go get things we need for her, but not always.  My only real frustration at this point is in the times when I’m alone with both kids and feeding her, literally stuck, and he is either out of sight or doing something he shouldn’t and not listening when I tell him to stop.  We’ll have to keep working on that!

Mom and I got some work done in the garden before she left this past week.  We pulled out the peony that had WAY overgrown its britches.  As soon as we had one big rain it was falling over and just plain ugly, just like last year, so I was ready for it to go away.  I wanted something more colorful there anyway, since it’s our main entryway.  Pulling and digging it up, however, was no small feat!  We put in a delphinium, in the same color as was in my wedding bouquet ;) , a pink lady slipper?, and a pink yarrow.  I also bought some tomatoes in that trip, and another perennial (bee balm) to put in the back by the garage where there are lots of bare spaces once the tulips have finished blooming.  I also finally dug up the irises, the last of the plantings on the back side of the house where we’ll just put landscape rock or mulch since the soil is less than ideal there.  I moved some of the more hardy ones to the back by the garage, opposite the tulips, and got rid of the ones that haven’t bloomed since we moved in.  I also had hoped to get some annuals planted, but with all the rain we had, it just didn’t get done.  I’ll have to use that Mother’s Day gift next year!

Monday was my first (and really only so far) day with both kids on my own since Mom left early that morning and Jeremy worked.  As luck would have it, the day started with an email from work that the internet was down at our Penn campus and I was soon on the phone with both work and our internet provider to resolve it.  After feeding Vivian, I packed up both kids and headed off to the office!  Vivian just slept, and Mac was very good for the short time I needed to get everything back up and running.  In hindsight, had I had my head on straight, I could have walked someone through the restart that needed to be done, but alas I did not…  Back home then to finish our day, which ended up going very well.

Tuesday I had more work to do, including a meeting, so Mac went to daycare for the day.  Vivian went with me and was no trouble at all.

Wednesday, we all hit the road to Madison!  Jeremy was scheduled to work in Wisconsin Dells Thursday through Sunday, so we hitched a ride to spend more time with Nana – and meet the Maiers family for the first time!  I also got to visit with some friends, and we’ll get to visit with Jeremy’s cousin (turns out Jeremy is off today and part of tomorrow) who also just had a baby girl just a few weeks before we did.
