Two Weeks Old

Vivian had her 2-week check-up yesterday.  She had a glowing report!  She’s weighing in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces (75th percentile).  Her height is still 21 inches (90th percentile) and head is still 14.5 inches around (75th percentile).  The doctor was very impressed with her strength and head control, and he was surprised to hear how she has been sleeping at night.  At that point she had slept 6 hours straight for 2 nights (not in a row) – now it’s been 3 – this week!  She’s a few weeks ahead of “average” on her sleeping and eating, and the doctor said he’s not sure he’s seen such a thing in his 19 years.  I fully expect this will not continue, but each time it happens, no matter how infrequently, is a blessing in my book!

We’ve had some crummy weather in the last week, so yesterday was the first time in several days we could go outside with the kids.  We played out there for a couple hours after bringing Mac home from his play date with Henry at Aunt Jane’s.  Mom and I had been out and about quite a bit during the day, starting with Vivian’s doctor’s appointment, breakfast at OPH, a trip to Bachman’s to get some perennials to replace the peony we pulled out today, and a chiropractor visit before picking up Mac at Jane’s.

Mac interacted more with Vivian today than he has so far.  She was lying on her play mat in their room, and he went over to her and was getting down close to her face and giggling.  A little later, Mom was holding her, and he noticed some drool on her face.  He used his finger to wipe it, then I asked if he wanted the burp cloth – he took it over to her and wiped her mouth.  It was adorable, but of course I couldn’t quite catch any of this with the camera!

Speaking of photos, don’t forget to check out our photostream on Flickr once in a while.  I try to upload pictures there but don’t always include them in blog posts or on Facebook.
