Family Weekend in Madison

Mac and the girls made the trip to Madison this past weekend to celebrate Emily’s First Communion. Jane and Mac and I traveled together on Friday arriving in time for dinner and a late bedtime for the little guy. He did extremely well on the trip there.
He got to play with his cousins quite a bit on Saturday, which they all seemed to love! They were playing with balls, looking at the fish and building tracks to race cars. He also got to spend some great time with Nana and Auntie Clare and her pets. 
He woke up early each day, probably in anticipation of all the fun! He did NOT want to leave.
He did pretty well on the ride home also, considering the challenge of an additional 45 minutes of stopped traffic which cut his nap short. Usually he can sleep in the car maybe an hour if we’re lucky, but this was a 40-minute nap at best followed by another 4 hours in the car. Needless to say he was tired when we got home and very sad when he and I got dropped off and Jo and Steph left him.
