Learning

Posted By on March 21, 2010

Mac is learning at an alarming rate these days.  He can do his alphabet puzzle almost completely by himself (video below) and tries to say lots of new words.  He can recognize many animals and can call some by name when he sees pictures (monkey, cow, bird, kitty, puppy/dog, and -of course- fish).  Jeremy and I are continually amazed at what he learns and remembers.  He was even able to do a puzzle where the pieces are all separate circles, each with a letter and an item.  He could finish it almost all by himself, as I watched slack-jawed in amazment!  Jane said they do puzzles at daycare, but I’m still shocked.  We are also workin on colors and shapes and continue working on the alphabet.  It seems each time we sing songs, he can sing one more word than the last time.  He still loves to sing “Wheels on the Bus” and is always reliable to sing “town” at the end of each verse.  And he can sing the last word of some of the lines from the theme to “My Friends Tigger and Pooh” – always singing “Pooh” at the end!

I wish I had more time to post lately, but I’m busy trying to get my office in some semblance of order in any “free” time I’ve had. My deadline for that is the end of next week, when I will then tackle painting Mac’s room to be “the kids’” room in preparation for the new baby.  I’m trying to at least catch some events on video and take pictures once in a while to keep everyone updated!
