Catching Up… Continued!

IMG_1993 Friday the 7th was the start of Mac’s Oma & Opa’s visit to Minnesota!  For those who don’t know, Jeremy’s dad and his wife Marla moved to New Mexico a couple of years ago, so we don’t get to see them very often.  We couldn’t get down there this year, so we were happy when they said they would be planning a visit north!  They spent the day with us on Friday and were able to play with Mac while we prepared dinner.  Mathew came over for dinner also.

IMG_2016 Saturday was an early day as we headed out to Annandale for the Elfering golf outing and reunion.  Amazingly enough, the rain actually stopped about a half hour before our tee times and started up again only as we were all heading back home!  Jeremy played 18 holes with his cousins while I played 9 with the ladies since there were willing souls to watch Mac for a while.  I shot a 56, which for me was respectable.  And I didn’t lose any balls, which is a huge accomplishment and progress for my game.  My short game needs some work but I’m becoming much more consistent in my shots.  The afternoon was lots of fun to catch up with some of the relatives, and it was nice for everyone to get to see Mac.

IMG_2050 Sunday I made my grandma’s pancakes for Oma & Opa, then we just spent time at our house relaxing and playing with Mac.  And Monday afternoon we went to Como Zoo for a picnic and to look at all the animals!  Mac loves the animals, especially the ones that move around a lot and make noise.  It was a hot day though, so it was good the zoo is small.  We were glad to get back into the air conditioning!  IMG_2062 Mathew came over to make dinner for all of us before their visit came to an end.  :(

Tuesday was sort of a catch-up day around the house, and then Wednesday, Mac was invited to Grandma’s house!  I had to work for much of the day, conducting a training on our new Google Apps interface and hosting a demo of a student information system.  After that, Jeremy and I went golfing again.  We played 9 holes at a new course for us – a tough one!  This time I did lose one ball, but I scored a 52, beating Jeremy again!  Again my game was more consistent.  I just really need to work on my putting.  I did manage to get one par, which again, for me, is good.

And that brings us to today.  I guess I wasn’t all that far behind, but we have had a lot going on!  Jeremy is on the road again from early this morning until Saturday morning, so Mac and I endured his 18-month check-up with a blood test and a shot on our own.  Tomorrow I plan to work most of the day while Mac enjoys a day with his Aunt Jane!
