Progress and The Final Push

Let’s see… What day is it again?

The last couple of days, Jeremy has worked during the day, so I’ve had Mac while trying to still get some things accomplished. I’d say I’ve been moderately successful. Tuesday I tried to get a little work done at the condo (work work, not moving work) while Mac had his morning nap. Then we had a carpet salesperson arrive at the house around 11 to give us an estimate for Mac’s room. I honestly can’t remember what else I did that day, probably laundry and dishes. Between the carpet lady, taking care of Mac and having to get ready for my choir party that evening with people from church, all I know is I was busy all day. The party was a great reward for the hard work I’ve been doing! When I got home and after Mac was asleep, I even treated myself to watching a movie!

Yesterday I got a load of laundry done before dropping Mac at Grandma’s so I could run errands. I got my hair cut, then I spent a over an hour at the condo packing up more of the kitchen and loading up my car. After that I headed to donate blood and then picked up Mac (and, thanks to Roxi, a warm meal for Jeremy and me). Once again, after Mac was tucked in it was back to unpacking and sorting out the kitchen – it’s becoming quite the puzzle!

This morning we had another carpet estimate which came in little higher but is higher quality and includes a moisture-repelling pad upgrade. They can also install tomorrow, so I placed the order! After that I headed to the condo, Mac in tow, to pack more and do some work if possible. He wasn’t a great napper, but I managed to get the work done I really needed to, and I packed almost the rest of the kitchen. I also spent some time getting our phone, internet and DirecTV transferred to the new house. That took longer than it probably should, but I wanted to make sure we were getting the best deals possible as we add phone service and move our TV billing over to be bundled with our other services. Jeremy was already hard at work digging into his boxes when we got back to the house. I got dinner ready, Jeremy put Mac to bed, and I continued with what I had brought from the condo kitchen (isn’t it done YET?). Jeremy is still working on his boxes now at 10:30, but one thing he found was a TV antenna, so at least I can catch some of the Olympics next week!

Tomorrow Mac’s carpet gets installed, I have to sing at church, then when Jeremy gets home from work, we’ll head to the condo for what I hope will be the last of the packing in preparation for the final big move on Sunday.

I am hoping Saturday will be a day of rest for Mac and me. Maybe a day at the pool if it’s nice out? Jeremy has to work very late, so I’ll try to get some stuff done after Mac goes to sleep to prepare for Sunday.
