One Month Old
Posted By Jill on March 16, 2008
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month. Well, more now that I’m finally getting around to writing this post. I am finding I don’t have quite as much time to write when Jeremy is working, which he did all last week. I am managing to get a few things done when Mac is happy in his bouncy seat or swing or sleeping (although at times I should be taking a little nap myself), but eating and keeping house, and even email, are priorities over blogging. I also manage to stay in touch with work, but most tasks there I can “one-hand” type responses if necessary. With my blog posts I like to take some time to think and write (two-handed), so it’s been a while. We’ll see if I can get this written and posted before Mac wakes up to eat…
We did manage to get this picture on Mac’s one-month-old day though, so that is correctly documented! We also took some video of what kinds of movements he can accomplish during his tummy time so we can compare it later. I’m not sure when that will be edited and posted – no promises.
Mac is doing pretty well with sleeping at night. We’re working on adjusting his schedule so that we’re not up until 11:00 p.m.! He sleeps for at least 4-5 hours when I first put him to bed, then the nighttime feeding takes sometimes 2 hours before we’re back in bed, and he’ll sleep for anywhere from 1-3 more hours. He has some fussy times during the day, but for the most part he is doing very well and is content. Thursday, Jeremy was home and we all went out to do errands on a beautiful spring day. Mac was good for a few hours until he was hungry and cranky at the end. Friday, I was able to figure out a feeding schedule that allowed me to take him out on my own to run a few errands, and he was great! He even slept long enough when we got home to allow me to get some lunch myself. I was able to get a few things done around the house as well, which, I almost hate to admit, felt great to accomplish. When you’ve been unable to move around and get up and going as long as I have, I guess even doing a load of laundry feels good!
Today we had a brunch/shower with the Elfering girls over at Great Aunt Arlene’s house, so we met more of the family. They agree that Mac looks like Jeremy and that he’s just adorable… who can argue? It was great to see everyone there, and Mac was a very good boy for the girls.
Ok, the little one is waking up… more updates later!
