Give Us a Break

Posted By on October 19, 2007

I think it’s been about 24 hours, but I’m not sure. I have absolutely no concept of time at the moment other than that it’s still light out.

P1020119.JPG We drove up to the North Shore yesterday for our long weekend (state teacher convention), checked in to our suite at Superior Shores, and proceeded to relax. Completely relax. It was an effort to even get up to leave the room for dinner, but we got a window seat with a view (okay, so the view was of a storm coming through, but we really didn’t care). Dinner was yummy. We went into town for groceries, and then settled in to watch our Thursday shows. Missing our Tivo but absolutely nothing else… Then I got to soak in the whirlpool bath – one that you fill yourself so it’s safe for Baby! After a long night’s sleep, thanks to the room-darkening drapes, we slept in and haven’t left the room yet today. We’ve been satisfied just sitting in bed watching TV, eating, reading, and I’m trying to get some more work done on Baby’s blanket. We’ll venture out for dinner again, but that’s about it!

We’ve both worked very hard, lots of hours for Jeremy, for the last six weeks or so and greatly needed this break together. It could very well be our last truly relaxing time away before Baby comes. Tomorrow the weather should improve in time for us to do some outdoor exploring, but for now we’re happy in our hideaway!
