I wouldn’t go so far as to say I am now solely a “Mac User,” but I guess I’m pretty close at this point, considering I’ve saved my money to buy, yes, a Mac! I had actually saved the money by last spring from my “second job” cantoring for funerals, but I had to spend that money on the extra Packer tickets from my season ticket package. Now that most of those tickets have sold, and I’ve added some to my fund, I finally had enough again to buy my MacBook. We went to the Apple Store on Wednesday night, bought one right off the shelf, and ended up with some great savings using my teacher discount and other specials they had (Jeremy got a new iPod out of the deal too).
I’m really happy with it so far. I couldn’t believe that out of the box it took less than 10 minutes to set up from power on, and only about 20 minutes for all the updates it needed. Compared to the almost 8 hours I spent setting up a brand new computer for my aunt last spring and the hours I spend setting up PCs at work, this was fantastic! It didn’t come with any software I needed to take off or trial software I don’t care about, and I don’t have to worry about anti-virus either. I can’t wait to jump into iMovie and GarageBand… this could be dangerous for someone like me!!
