Ah, The Weekend!

Posted By on May 14, 2007

This past weekend was one of the better ones in recent memory. The weather was almost perfect! Jeremy and I had a rather stressful week, as our weeks go, with getting the condo readied for the market and work and other evening commitments. We started our weekend at Maynard’s on Lake Minnetonka for dinner out on the patio with a view of the lake. The only thing better would have been to be on the lake!

Saturday I had some paperwork to do, then I started my planting on the patio. In previous years I started seeds inside, but, in the interest of space, this year I didn’t. That turned out to be a good decision, especially now that the condo is on the market. I bought this year’s flowers at Wagner’s (the place I usually buy supplies has gone out of business). They had a beautiful selection, and as always I spent way too much money, but this time I didn’t buy too many! I had to pay a little more for more mature plantings so it looks good now, not in a few weeks. Saturday was a great day to plant, and I tested out last year’s great find for a watering system – it still works! Jeremy joined me outside but was reading – he claims his black thumb would not be good for the flowers. Saturday night was church as usual then Jeremy took care of dinner and we watched Night at the Museum.

Sunday I tried my hand at Eggs Benedict – I’m sure the next time will go more smoothly (I had a few issues), but it was yummy! Nana made making poached eggs look easy. ;) Then we went on some errands, I finished up some ebay business, and Jeremy had work to do. But we managed to find some time to sit outside again, reading and relaxing. I am reading Nicholas Evans’ The Divide, which is a huge improvement over the last book I read that took me about eight months to finish only to find a horrible ending! I still don’t read all that much, but it’s certainly nice to have something to do while soaking up the sun! We tried the last of our Let’s Dish! entrees for dinner while watching the season finale of Survivor. Of course the weekend ended with a good straightening of the condo in hopes of showings Monday.
